Center for Educational Technology (CET) at the Fourth Military Medical University (AFMU) serves teachers who are interested in using technology to create effective learning environment. As one of the key technological support centers on campus, CET supports all the colleges and schools at AFMU with programs and services that encourage collaboration and cost-effectiveness in the application of new technologies for teaching , learning and information management.

Since its founding in 1955,CET at AFMU has been committed to the research, development and application of modern educational technologies such as medical photography, film-making, video-taping, multimedia and the construction of Internet teaching resources for the country and the university. It is well-known as one of the biggest and best educational technology centers in the country, a key member of the Chinese Association of Educational Technology and Chinese society for educational technology of Chinese Medical Association, a national training center of modern educational technology ,and offers graduate programs in educational technology.

The Center boasts a strong faculty force of over 30 people, including 10 holding senior professional titles. The Center is divided into 7 specialty groups of Audio-Video Teaching Materials, Photography and Slides, Multimedia and Internet Teaching Materials, Technical Maintenance and R&D, Institute of Modern Educational Technology, Graduate Training Station ,and a Center for Medical Educational Information and Resources.

Functionally, CET at AFMU is responsible for 1) making multimedia teaching materials;2)technical support and maintenance for teaching, learning and research;3)teaching students and teachers basic educational technology and skills; 4)research and development of educational technology theory, Its application and research projects.

Thanks to the persistent devotion of its faculty and staff, CET has experienced a great many achievements in the past 20 years. It has won many prizes at the State, provincial and army levels, including Teaching Achievement Awards，the State Technological

Invention Award and the national, provincial and army Scientific and Technological Progress Awards(first, second and third prizes).Its faculty and staff have published over 200 academic papers, edited and published over 100 sets of audio-vedio teaching materials and 13 books, and undertaken research projects supported by the State, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, etc.

Dedicated to the educational technology to create a more effective learning and research environment for students and teachers of the university, the CET faculty and staff will continue to contribute to the further development of the university and make more achievements in the future.
