The Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine has a wide range of activities covering all aspects of periodontics, bone regeneration and treatment of oral mucosal diseases. Research is a core activity of the department with many contributions that have developed in tissue engineering techniques for bone regeneration around teeth, alveolar bone and the relationship between periodontal disease and systemic disease. As well as there are ongoing research projects focused on the role of environment in the development of mucosal disease.

Qintao Wang
Dr. Wang is Professor and Head of the department of periodontology and oral medicine, vice chairman of the Society of Periodontology, Chinese Stomatological Association. His areas of research include the relationship of systemic disease and periodontal disease and studies related to periodontal regeneration. As a principle investigator, he was in charge of many grants including “10th & 11th Five-Year” Projects and grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Zhifen Wu
Prof.Wu is the ex-chairperson of the Society of Periodontology, Chinese Stomatological Association, entitled to the special allowance of goverment. She has devoted herself to clinical treatment, prevention and research of the periodontal and mucosal diseases for long term in medical practice.
