It was founded in 1960s. With the floor space of 7,000 square meters, it is consisted of inpatient department, operating room, section of anesthesiology, orthosis room and bone tumor lab. There are several specialty divisions --- bone tumor surgery, trauma orthopaedics and artificial joint surgery, spinal column surgery, arthroscope surgery, microsurgery and pediatric orthopaedics. 7 operations can be carried out in the operating room simultaneously. The department was ratified as the institute of bone tumor of PLA, one of the national key disciplines with appointed professors by Changjiang Award Program, the national key discipline of “Project 211”, “first-grade” key discipline of PLA and the key medical lab of PLA.
