The Department of Radiology of Xijing Hospital is a comprehensive department integrated with of X-ray facilities, computed tomography system (CT), magnetic resonance imaging system (MRI) and interventional radiology services.
It was certificated to authorize Master’s Degree from 1981 and Doctor’s Degree from 1986. Also, in 2001, it was ratified by the Ministry of Health of General Logistics Department of PLA to be the Radiological Diagnostic Center of PLA. There are 104 persons working in the department including 18 doctors, 3 engineers, 7 technicians and 76 hired staff. Among them, there are 3 professors, 11 associate professors. Eight of them are with Master’s degree, and nine with Doctor’ degree, 1 post-doctoral experience.
The Department is well-equipped with advanced massive instruments that totally valued about 100 million Yuan, such as MR system （Philips Gyroscan 1.5 T scanner, GE1.5T scanner and Siemens 3T scanner）, MSCT（Siemens Dual source CT, Aquilion 16-slice Row CT and GE 2 Slice CT）, spiral CT（PQ6000）, DSA(digital subtraction angiography) suite（Siemens and Philips）, Computed radiological（CR） and Digital radiological（DR）X-ray systems. The number of patients who underwent routine examinations and interventional therapies has exceeded 17,000 per year.
The Department has integrated regulatory regimes on administration and medical treatment, which grant it a stable status of development.
The research advantages and major superiority lies on: 1. Diagnosis and fundamental research on tumor or tumorous diseases; 2. Imaging study of the etiology, development, biochemical metabolism, morphology and functions of cardiovascular diseases; 3.Clinical application of images post-process and 3-D images; 4. Clinical application and fundamental research of interventional imaging; 5. Clinical application and study of new MR techniques.
More than sixty newly-developed medical services required by Grade III hospital are now forwarded for patients’ examination and treatment, including (1) MR: brain diffusion and perfusion imaging, magnetic resonance spectrum, contrast-enhanced MRA, MR fluoroscopy, mobi-track vascular imaging, magnetic resonance hydrography (urinary system, spinal cord, the bile duct system and inner ear ), MRI multi-phase scan, cardio imaging. (2) CT: multi-planar reconstruction, maximum intensity projection, SSD, VR, CTVE, CTU, CT hepatic multi-phase scan. (3) Interventional therapy: implant of filter of IVC, implant of bile duct stent, rotating DSA, interventional embolization of malignant tumor and so on.
The Department has been sponsored by 8 national natural science funds, 9 provincial natural science funds, 8 hospital funds and taken part in one national “863” Project, 3 national “Eleventh Five Year” Projects in recent 5 years. Over 400 papers have been published and 12 papers were indexed by SCI. We hope to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional radiology services in a timely and cost-effective manner for the benefit of all patients and we are always ready to help you and cater for your needs.
